Join Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel for our Third Annual Valley Day of Service. We’ll be partnering with dozens of community groups and nonprofits to assist with service projects around the San Fernando Valley.
SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
We’re excited to help some great causes and organizations across the San Fernando Valley. After our opening program, you’ll have several options to volunteer at Pierce College or other locations around the Valley.
VOLUNTEER AT PIERCE COLLEGE
- Help Those in Need – Assemble homeless outreach kits, prepare sandwiches for those experiencing hunger, and participate in additional projects for seniors, veterans and others. (Pierce College)
- Learn How to Save a Life – Learn CPR with an American Red Cross certified CPR training instructor. (Pierce College)
- Donate Blood – We’re partnering with Cedars-Sinai to host a blood drive. (Pierce College)
- Support Domestic Violence Survivors – We’re partnering with Haven Hills to assemble no-sew blankets for survivors of domestic violence. (Pierce College)
- Make a Senior Smile – We’re partnering with OneGeneration to prepare crafts for homebound seniors. (Pierce College)
- Adopt a Pet – Come meet adorable rescue dogs who are ready to be adopted from Foxy & the Hounds. (Pierce College)
VOLUNTEER AT OTHER LOCATIONS AROUND THE VALLEY
- Give Some Love to the L.A. River – Join the LA River Walkers & Watchers to help clean the West Valley bike path along the LA River. (Reseda)
- Put Down Some Roots – Join TreePeople, the Santa Monica Mountains Fund, and the San Fernando Valley Rose Society to plant a garden at the Mid Valley YMCA. (Van Nuys)
- Prepare a Community Mural – Join us to help prepare the West Valley YMCA for a community mural! Volunteers will wash and prime the mural space while also having the opportunity to paint idea boards for the final mural. (Reseda)
- Plant Water-Friendly Shrubs – Join New Economics for Women to plant drought resistant shrubs and flowers to beautify their facility. (Canoga Park)
- Prepare the World’s Largest Lasagna to Feed Our Unhoused Neighbors – Join Hope the Mission as we attempt to break the world-record for largest lasagna, creating 20,000 meals for unhoused neighbors across the City of LA. (North Hills)
- Clean Up the Sepulveda Basin – This jewel of the Valley has been battered by the rains and needs some love. Join Volunteers Cleaning Communities for clean-up duty. (Lake Balboa)
- Plant Fruit Trees at a Family Shelter – Join TreePeople and the San Fernando Valley Rose Society to plant fruit trees at the Hope the Mission family shelter. Fruit from these trees will be used to feed folks in Hope the Mission’s kitchen. (Woodland Hills)
