The Planning and Land Use Committee met in August and heard a revised proposal for the property at 20460 Sherman Way. Twenty stakeholders were present and expressed concern that the revised proposal does not address previously raised concerns. The new proposal increases the height of the building and the number of units. The planned use had been senior housing; the revised planned use is market based residential rental units. The PLUM committee sent a letter of concern to the South Valley Planning Commission. The board sent a letter after the September 2013 meeting. And as of September 12, 2013 Councilmember Bluemenfield’s Office indicates that he cannot come out in support of the project hearing such community concern. UPDATE: Councilmember Blumenfield stated at the November 12, 2013 meeting that he put a stop to the proposal in its current format.
