The Winnetka Neighborhood Council hosted our annual Spring Clean on Saturday, April 21 in two locations this year: the Winnetka Recreation Center and Runnymede Park. At both locations we provided snacks and lunch. Volunteers at the Recreation Center cleared the park of trash and then moved west to Penfield Alley to tackle the overgrowth of bushes which had provided good cover for transients and delinquents. Other volunteers and youths from a Winnetka school tackled overgrown grass on Roscoe up to Keokuk street. At Runnymede voluteers cleared the park and surrounding area of trash.
