On October 25, 2008, kids and families from all over came to the 2008 Youth Expo to the Winnetka Elementary School to have fun, eat, see shows, and learn about great programs right here in the West Valley. Over 20 local agencies were represented with games and activities, and representatives were on hand to give information about how kids and families can get more involved with programs like after school tutoring and recreation, GED and college classes, and career development.

Members of LA Fire Department Station 104 in Winnetka, and LA Police Department’s Explorer’s came to meet and answer questions, and kids and families got to explorer a spotless fire engine, an ambulance, and a patrol car. Dancers from the Winnetka Recreation Center and the El Camino Real High School Drill Team gave show stopping performances, and Councilman Dennis Zine came out to enjoy in the fun and honored the Neighborhood Council with a certificate of recognition for sponsoring the day. The event was informative and great fun, and any thanks go out to all the people and agencies involved!
