New Housing to Replace Eyesore

At our February meeting we heard a proposal for a 40 unit project at the site of the former Pac Bell building at 6817 Winnetka Avenue. The project is planned to be three stories with a height of 45 feet and semi-subterranean parking for 53 spaces. The design is proposed to be a ranch or Cape Cod style, to conform to the character of the residential neighborhood. The elevation is planned to be graduated, meaning the front of the building facing Comanche is lower in height than the second and the third more close to the service station will be higher. It will consist of one and two bedroom apartments and will have 2 units as affordable housing. Rent will be from the mid $1,000 to mid 2,000 range.

The project was also heard by the Planning and Land Use Committee on January 21, 2020. The Board supported the project as presented.
